Basic Formation

1. Start with thefeminine singularform of the adjective.
2. Add-menteto the end.

Examples

Adjectives Ending in -o

• Change the-oto-abefore adding-mente.
• Example:rápido→rápida→rápidamente

Using Multiple Adverbs

• When using more than one adverb formed with-mente, only thelast adverbneeds to have the suffix.
• Example:Ella habla clara y rápidamente.

Exceptions

• Some adverbs do not follow this pattern and have a completely different form.
• Example:bien(well),mal(badly),muy(very)
